Tyre service can be a lucrative business for all workshops, but time is very much of the essence for tyre changing and wheel balancing. Customers often want a job to be done quickly and done well at the same time. Meaning that ensuring sensors have been activated and tested is now a key part of business. The latest range of tyre changers and wheel balancers from Bosch offer a safe, versatile and time-saving operation, which can in-turn help with repeat business.

Tyre changers

The TCE 4430-24 and the TCE 4435-24 tyre changers cover 95% of all passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles, allowing these changers to make workshops a one-stop-shop for their customers, increasing client retention and bolstering revenue.

The TCE 4430-24 and TCE 4435-24 pneumatic, tilting-back tyre changers provide workshops with a high speed, high performing yet durable tyre changer suitable for even the toughest UHP and RFT passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Thanks to the addition of a special accessory kit, these machines are also capable of handling motorcycle tyres.

Bosch’s G-Frame concept technology is at the heart of its tyre changers, the unique design increases the rigidity of the machine, avoiding tyre and rim damage while also improving the time it takes to change the tyre.

The TCE 4430-24 and TCE 4435-24 also feature a four-point adjustable bead breaker, designed to protect the rim from scratching by avoiding any risk of contact with the metal housing, which is equipped with a quick exhaust valve for faster bead breaking times. This increases the cylinder speed by up to 40 per cent as well as avoiding crushing the tyre excessively. 

The shorter stroke of the cylinder reduces the need for air, making the compressor’s more efficient and cost effective. A smoother fit is also ensured by the extreme rigidity of the frame, reducing the need for manual guidance, with a variable speed motor.

Wheel Balancers

The WBE 4200 and WBE 4400 semi-automatic wheel balancers from Bosch offer garages and workshops a simple, high-precision and easy-to-use value alternative to less effective rivals. Each machine provides the user with clear digital read-outs for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles. A new ergonomic design allows better access to the inside of the wheel and an improved working position, creating more comfort for the operator. 

These new semi-automatic wheel balancers, which are manufactured to the highest quality in Italy, each have a measuring time of just eight seconds, making for quick customer turnover for the workshop thanks to Bosch’s EASYFIX® arm with automatic measurement of the diameter and distance of the wheel.

Both machines have a space-saving hood and slim body design so they can be used in the smallest workshop. The WBE 4400, incorporates all of the useful features of the WBE 4200 but with the added convenience and accuracy of a high-quality 19” TFT LCD-monitor, offering a high resolution graphic display, providing quick and easy measuring time. The double LED colour screens on the WBE 4200 gives the user accurate readouts that are legible.

Wheel Alignment

Bosch’s 4630 + is a sophisticated piece of equipment, designed to provide a more comprehensive service. Designed to be easy to use, it can be operated by a single technician. Using “Real 3D” it provides precise and fast results and once the vehicle has been driven onto the turn plates and sliding plates, the setup and measuring process will only take seven minutes. Unlike conventional run-out measurements, the high frequency cameras mean the vehicle can be driven rather than pushed, allowing the wheel alignment process to be performed on all four wheels simultaneously. The check is carried out on cars and light trucks with a weight of up to 3.5 t and a wheel base of 180 cm to 340 cm.

The four-wheel alignment range from Bosch offers technicians portable, easy-to-use equipment that boosts workshop turnover. The FWA 4335 and FWA 4435 both only require a single technician to undertake a complete measurement, making them easy to handle with no calibration during installation required. With no need to install the sensor heads at fixed positions, the wheel alignment range from Bosch requires little space as well as being portable, making both models suitable for most workshops. Both machines allow the technician access to the Bosch Vehicle Database, with information on over 35,000 different vehicles from over 50 manufacturers.
